Delores Stevens, piano
Soloist, chamber musician, teacher, coach, adjudicator and co-founder of two chamber music series, one of which is now in its 30th year, pianist Delores Stevens is also a champion of new music. She has been honored by the National Association of Composers for "Outstanding Achievement in Contemporary Music." Her CD "Pilgrimage" showcases the works of five outstanding U.S. composers and last year she premiered new works by Massachusetts composer Ned Rorem and Los Angeles composer Maria Newman. Early in her career she toured North America, Europe and Asia with the Montagnana Trio. Recently, she has toured in the Czech Republic, Japan, China, Australia and Argentina. She was a six-term Trustee of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) and is the Director of Chamber Music for the Young Musicians Foundation in Los Angeles.
