General Information

Hanna-McEuen is a very hot country duo comprised of first cousins Jamie Hanna and Jonathan McEuen. You may have noticed that Jonathan McEuen gets a lot of play on our little label because he is one of the most talented people that I have ever met and a genuinely wonderful person. I was thrilled to get the chance to record this amazing group using our audiophile techniques AND that Albert Lee would be able to join in for a tune. Along with Jesse Siebenberg and J.T. Russell, this four man band kicks out great songs with close harmonies and terrific solos.

About the Recording Approach

This recording is NOT an attempt to "document" a live recording of a Jamie and Jonathan but instead an exploration of the creative process of making and recording music on HiDef videotape and using high-resolution digital audio recording equipment. AIX Records uses no EQ, dynamics processing or artificial reverberation...everything you hear is as the musicians played it. Both "audience" and "stage" 5.1 mixes and a PCM 96/24 bit stereo mix are included on the disc on the DVD-Video side. However, it is the DVD-Audio 96 kHz/24 bit tracks encoded with Meridian Lossless Packing [MLP] that elevates the listening experience well beyond a traditional CD or even a live event. You can chose to listen from the middle of ensemble and hear the sound of the instruments coming from all directions or place yourself in the "best seat in the house". The dynamic range and fidelity offered by the 96 kHz/24 Bit source recording makes this recording come to life.

About the Disc

In addition to a set of great songs, there is lots of great video of live performances, a trip to the HOB gig in Las Vegas and interviews with the guys. As you've come to expect from AIX Records, this disc has alternate mixes, a photos gallery, complete discography, behind the scenes footage and lots of other stuff for HM fans.
