Welcome to the AIX Records Newsletter
A Bi-Weekly Online Source For Information On Our Products And The World Of DVD-Audio/Video
For those of you who signed up a while ago and expected regular communications through this newsletter, I sincerely apologize. If you know me at all, you'll understand that time constraints and stretched resources are largely to blame for the shortage of newsletters. The toughest part was simply getting the emails out...I spent hours just issuing the emails according to the system my web ISP suggested. But now, thanks to my friends at SoftwareKids, I have an email system that will hopefully make this process much simpler. I hope you welcome these short postings...but if at any time you wish to discontinue receiving our newsletter, just let me know and I will remove you from the list.
Thanks for you patience and support. Mark Waldrep, Ph.D. Founder and Chief Engineer

Secure eCommerce Transactions Added To AIX Web Site
Verisign Handles All Credit Card Purchases
I know a lot of our customers have asked about the security of our web site. It took me a while to figure it out and get all of the right services and accounts...but we're now up and rolling. It's not perfect but it does work. Basically, you make your selections the normal way and at the very last step you're redirected to the Versign page where you enter your payment information. There are some additional features that we will improve the whole thing but I thought AIX customers would want to know that the basic mechanism is in place.

Jennifer Warnes - Special Limited Edition Delayed
Release Pushed Back At Least 3 Months
Several people have written and inquired about the status of the Jennifer Warnes project that we captured last summer. I had originally expected that we could finish by this time, but a number of circumstances have slowed it down. I'm not prepared to go into details but we have hundreds of hours of video footage to review and select, mountains of photos, mixes to attempt and review, as well as the creative story to capture.
I'm pretty confident that those who have ordered this very special disc will feel the wait will be well worth it, but anyone that would like their reservation/pre-order canceled will have their payment returned.
I will be providing regular summaries of the progress in the newsletter. Thanks very much for your patience.

Grant Geissman - There And Back Again Nears Completion
Newest AIX Records Jazz Project
All of the music has been mixed, the video of session is complete and most of the extras are finished...all that remains is the final authoring and quality control. In early, March we visited Grant at his studio and videotaped an interview, guitar lesson, discography and examination of his books...he's a fanatic collector of MAD Magazine materials! The tracks on this project are complex and tuneful. Grant was joined by Jim Cox, piano, Gordon Goodwin, sax, Jimmie Johnson, bass and Greg Bissonette, drums. Expected release date through the AIX Records web site is 4-6 weeks.

Recent Revews And Customer Comments
About the Steve Huffsteter Big Band - Gathered Around Disc

"I just played my first Big Band DVD, Gathered Around, by Steve Huffsteter. Wow! What a fantastic experience! It was like playing my first LP, after 78's & 45's (I'm 67 yrs old). It was better than going from LP's to CD's. It was incredible! This is a new era for Big Band Jazz recording. It could transform the recording industry." Jerry Swanberg
"Gathered Around is without question the best big band video I have ever
seen--on many levels. Not only is Steve's music beautifully played, but the
quality of the audio and video is absolutely perfect. I won't be surprised
if I never see another video of this caliber again." Mike Kaiser
"Steve Huffsteter's Big Band finally brings digitally recorded big band to DVD-Audio. For jazz fans, the audio quality doesn't get any better or more accurate than this."
