Together with trumpeter Walt Fowler, saxophonist Brandon Fields and bassist Alphonso Johnson (of Weather Report), Simon and Jeff performed some old and new material for our cameras and high-resolution recording equipment. The music is high energy, melodically complex and rhythmic intricate…and wonderfully expressive. They describe the style as traditional acoustic jazz, but it is infused with lots of interesting odd meters and mutliple layers of complex rhythms.
